Mold & Sewage Remediation Specialist
Training in Principles and Procedures
for IICRC - AMRT Certificate

Pembertons Cleaning/Restoration Supply & Training Center

                                      The primary goal of the
                 'Applied Microbial Remediation Technician' Course
is to teach remediators the principles and procedures to
remediate mold, sewage, and other microbiological contaminants.

Prerequisite to obtain AMRT Certificate: IICRC WRT Certification

Knowledge of mold and sewage remediation principles and procedures is essential to individuals engaged in property restoration, as well as property management, IEQ investigations or other related professions.

AMRT course graduates are expected to be adequately equipped with the knowledge and capabilities to perform remediation services, while protecting the health and safety of workers and occupants.

                   *************************************************
Topics covered focus on controlling the amount of moisture in the building. The easiest way to halt the spread of microbes is to remove as much moisture from the area as possible.

* Students will be taught how to quickly dry a building and will use equipment that identifies the amount of moisture in the area.

* Students will be instructed on identifying spores and microbial colonies.

* Once identified, the instructor will show the students how to isolate the infestation and select the proper removal method for the task. Usually, the only sure way to clean out an infestation is to remove it physically. Chemical treatment is normally not completely effective on its own.

* Physical removal can be complicated and particularly difficult if the structure is compromised. For this reason, students will learn how to survey a property to determine if it must be condemned or not.

* Finally, the students will learn how to protect themselves from various health hazards while in the field.

* Once the class is finished, the student will need to show their new-found skills to get certified.

For mold remediation courses, this includes a skill demonstration and a written examination.

* Once the student passes the examination, they will receive certification shortly thereafter.

IICRC certification is available upon passing the exam. This course also earns four Continuing Education Credits with the IICRC if you are already IICRC certified.
