How to Tailor Your Visual Stories for Social Media
Blog Post #5: (part 5 of 5)
Where will you post your visual storytelling content? Your visual storytelling strategy includes the media channels you'll use for the best results at the most affordable cost!
These should be the social media sites where your targeted viewers gets or shares their desired information. The most effective strategy is to target several sites your viewing audience members use.
However, each platform has its own tastes and preferences. You'll need to
customize your content appropriately. A video story that performs well on one
may flop on another.
Here are a few things you need to know about the major social media channels used mostly by your local customers and prospects. These are also the most available as well as affordable for your visual storytelling content.
Actually, in my experience, our professional cleaning industry mostly uses Facebook services.
Facebook is actually the world's largest social media platform!
>>> Facebook has users from all regions and demographics.
>>> Photos, videos, and other visual content get a high level of engagement.
Many types of local services, (especially professional cleaning services) successfully use campaigns on Facebook, where they tell a story visually over the course of multiple posts.
**#2 – “YouTube” (Specialty: short explainer clips which may be best for you!)
YouTube videos can go from short explainer training clips to long-form mini-movies, so it's an excellent venue for all varieties of visual storytelling. YouTube's longer videos tend to get more engagement here, allowing you to develop your narrative if that fits your marketing needs.
**#3 – “LinkedIn” (commercial cleaning focus)
LinkedIn is a social media platform focused mostly on businesses!
>>> B2B businesses use it to share visual content
>>> Infographics, videos, visual customer quotes & testimonials,
perform exceptionally well here.
**#4 – “Start With Serving Your Local Market”
Your first step is to find out where your target market viewers looks for
information online. (My experience, as I mentioned before, is mostly
Facebook.)
