5 Top Tips for Uncovering Unmet Needs of Your Changing Market Place
How well do you know your changing market's pain points? Do you know what factors influence their daily decision-making? You will need to know this to turn them from prospects to long-term customers!
It can be hard to figure out what needs they have that aren't being met. Following are five possible ways you can discover these unmet needs in your marketplace so you can focus on them and offer solutions.
**#1 - Conduct eMail Surveys - They Work!
A short email survey that takes only a few minutes can uncover valuable insights for converting inactive leads to your active, ideal customer list.
Use straightforward questions that ask what challenges or pain they face. Ask them what solutions they're searching for now. Make your survey short and easy to complete. Analyze the results and look for patterns.
**#2 - Conduct eMail/Phone Interviews - They Work!
Another way to get insights on unmet needs is to conduct interviews.
Interviews take more preparation and time but can also give you better insights.
Reach out using email to your customer / prospect list and ask if you could have 15/20 minutes or so of their time.
A eMail announcement preceding a call works even better.
NOTE: It would be best if you offered an educational incentive for interviews since it takes longer for the person to reply. (Contact us for something of appropriate value.)
**#3 - Study Your Competitors
Follow your competitors to see how they're engaging with members of your shared customers. Look for gaps in their offerings where you can step in and better meet the customer needs.
Follow your competitors on social media, sign up for their email newsletter, and search for their names in your social listening.
**#4 - Stay on Top of Industry Trends
Things are constantly changing, specially in our cleaning industry! Stay current on these changes by subscribing to industry newsletters, reading blogs, and finding white papers. Look for trends that might affect your customers' lives and how they'll create new needs.
**#5 - Keep in Touch
Create multiple communication channels with your customers and keep them engaged. The more you talk to them, the more you'll know what new issues they're facing and how you can help.
