4 Strategies to Increase
 Your Email 'Open Rates'

by Lee Pemberton - eCleanAdvisor - Business Coach

                                   Blog Post #3:
Email marketing is an effective way to build relationships with your
target markets. However, your high-quality content isn't going to
accomplish this if your emails aren't being opened!

With just a few simple, but important strategies, you can ensure that your
subscribers are opening your emails and enjoying the values you offer!

#1 - The First Step Is to Know Your Market
4 Strategies to Increase Your Email &##x27;Open Rates&##x27;
    >>> It all starts with knowing your target market!
How well do you know their demographics, interests & concerns?
    >>> Even more importantly, how well do you understand their pain points
and problems? By speaking to these issues and providing
solutions, your open rates and conversions will go through the roof.

#2 - Keep Your List Clean
    >>> Quality is far more important than quantity in email marketing.
    >>> A smaller list with a high open rate is better than the opposite.
So, you need to ensure your subscribers are engaged and purge
           those who aren't.

  >>> Remove subscribers who haven't engaged with your emails for
         6 months or more.
If multiple messages bounce back from a certain email address,
          remove this one as well.
Use your autoresponder to check your list for duplicate entries.

#3 - Segment Your Email List
    >>> If your subscribers don't feel your messages are relevant, they'll
ignore them. The best way to ensure you're sending only the most
appropriate content to the right people is to segment!

    >>> There are many ways you can segment an email list.
You could choose a demographic factor like age, location, or income level.
            You can also segment by:
            (1) buyer behavior,
            (2) creating a segment for people who have already purchased.
            (3) Another idea is to segment by position in your sales funnel.

#4 - Improve Your Subject Lines!
    >>> The subject line is absolutely essential for getting subscribers
            to open messages!

    >>> This is why it needs to be both eye-catching and effective.
If subscriber aren't opening your messages, this could be the culprit.
    >>> Here are some things you can do to improve subject lines:
           > Mention benefits the subscriber will receive from opening and reading
           > Pique curiosity or a sense of mystery
           > Ask a question
           > Use specific numbers
           > Evoke emotions that are most motivating for your target subscribers.

    NOTE:
Try different things with your subject lines and monitor your results to see
    what works for your readers!

    – and, . . . Make Sure You're Not Spamming!
    (a) -  You're NOT purposely spamming, but ISPs (Internet Services Providers) don't
always know this. Your subscribers might be mistaking your messages for
              spam  and ignoring them.
Or,  their ISPs might be putting them in spam folders!

    (b) -  Here are some effective ways you can reduce spam issues:

    >>>   Make sure all your subscribers have ‘opted' (subscribed) into your list.

    >>>   Avoid using terms like “buy now” or “no obligation,” as these phrases
              trigger spam filters!

    >>>   Don't send too many messages in a short period of time.

    >>>   Be sure to send new subscribers a welcome message or a series of onboarding
emails to familiarize them with you.

    >>>   Use a tool provided by your autoresponder program to check your messages
             for potential spam issues.

    >>>   Remove subscribers who haven't engaged with your emails for 6 months
              or more.

    >>>   If multiple messages bounce back from a certain email address,
              remove this one as well.

    >>>   Also, be sure to use your autoresponder to check your list for
              duplicate entries.
A FEW IMPORTANT CLOSING NOTES FROM LEE:

Improving email open rates takes patience and time. You need to be willing to check
the metrics of the things that you try to fin d out what works and what isn't working.
When you know for sure, you can do more of what works and less of what doesn't!
