Never Assume That People Know What You Sell
-------------------------------------------------------
Assuming that your prospects and customers know exactly
what you sell is a common obstacle that many of us unknowingly
place in front of our prospects and customers.
We mistakenly assume that since 'we' are so familiar with all the
products and services and variations we offer, that our
customers must be familiar with them too -- so we neglect telling
them.
We are terribly wrong in this thinking! The minds of our prospects
and customers are overflowing with things related to their personal
lives, not the details of the businesses they buy from.
Most business owners would be shocked to discover how
little their prospects and customers actually know about
what they offer. And that is costing all of us thousands in
lost sales.

Don't Ever Assume
----------------------------------------------------------
When you are so involved with all of the details within
your business, it is hard to imagine that what is obvious
to you, is not so obvious to others.
Most businesses assume that their customers and prospects
are much more aware of the products and services that they
offer, than they really are.
----------------------------------------------------------
Here's What You Can Do
----------------------------------------------------------
You can increase your opportunities for sales by assuming
that your prospects and customers need to be educated
about your services. Just assume that they aren't
aware and you will be way ahead of the game.
Take a piece of paper and list all of your services.
Then for each one ask yourself what additional action you
can take to ensure that your prospects and customers are
aware of that particular service and how it might benefit them.
Can you send a letter, postcard, flier or an e-mail? Could you
simply hand them a brochure --- or make a brief presentation?
Don't just assume that they already know. Ask them if they
are aware. You may just hear -- 'I never knew you offered that.'
