Become More Productive By Doing Less!
Instead Of Adding To Existing Services
Consider Providing Fewer Services
Instead Of Diversifying
Consider Focusing
The greatest potential growth in your business often comes from
stripping away underperforming services and focusing on newer,
more efficient ones rather than simply adding more features or
products to already existing, but poorly performing services
(which almost always just complicates things).
Cleaning professionals often realize that they need to add new or
improved services, new offerings, or new products in order for
their businesses to prosper. While this is, without question
quite true, the opposite is often also true!
Instead Give This Some Thought . . .
Instead of adding more and more to existing services & their
related activities, I would like to encourage you to consider
aiming for providing fewer services (& their related activities)
more effectively and more profitably!
Instead of ‘Diversifying' services rendered by adding more, why
not consider focusing on one key service area?
Your one core area of service capability? . . . .
The one that your ideal customers & prospects want most.
The one that is the most profitable.
And . . . The one that you believe offers the greatest
potential growth in your business.
It doesn't have to be only ONE service. What you are looking for
are ‘KEY' service activities that are making the greatest impact.

I am sure that you have heard about the 80/20 rule -
IT'S A FACT: 20% of your services & related activities produce
approximately 80% of your income. Simply put, this means you
really should spend 80% of your time on the 20% of your services
that are producing your income.
Now, figure out what the 80% non-profitable services & activities
are, and stop doing them so you can focus more time on the 20%
service & related activities that make the real difference in your
results and income.

80/20 evaluation - Starts With Taking Inventory
A Few Tips RE: How To Approach This:
* Make a list of ALL your services and related activities.
* Rank ALL of them according to the most successful AND profitable.
* Examine them individually to determine how much time you're
spending on each of them.
* Then commit to focusing on the few that have the biggest impact
on your business.
* Stop promoting, or consider completely discontinuing services
that are simply hanging around and not providing real value.

80/20 evaluation - Marketing & (related activities)
This same concept applies to your marketing. If you're trying to
get your ideal buyer's attention by promoting 10 different
services that you can deliver, you'll have less success than you
will by focusing your marketing efforts & expenditures a core area
of your expertise.
Why does this happen?
Basically, it occurs because the clarity of any media based message
is drowned out when too many other messages surround it.
The opposite of that is also true! The fewer messages (offers,
products, or services) that you initially present to the prospect,
the greater impact each one will have and the better result.

Your Challenge . . .
Take inventory on your own business and life and look at how you're
spending your time.
Are you focused on the highest value, best return service areas?
Are you investing too much in non-related 'diversifications' hoping
for success?
Can you focus on fewer things and become the 'authority' at them?
