UNSMOKE FIVE DAY FIRE, ODOR,
AND WATER DAMAGE RESTORATION SCHOOL
This intensive, week long program is held at The
Restoration Science Academy, Unsmoke's world-wide acclaimed training facility.
At the Restoration Science Academy, there is a spacious, comfortable class room
for all of the presentation, "book work", and review parts of your sessions.
The "hands on" parts of your training will be in a variety
of rooms, as well as a separate house where you will learn how to extract,
monitor, and dry a flooded room, how to clean and restore smoke damaged contents
and structural materials, and how to deodorize with state of the art equipment
and chemicals. All of these exercises will be conducted in "real world"
settings, with plenty of time for hands on experience, and attention to your
specific questions and needs.

IICRC PREREQUISITE FOR AMRT CLASS
Requirement to receive the AMRT Certification is as
follows:
All students taking the AMRT exam for IICRC certification must have passed the
IICRC Certified Water Damage Restoration Technician Certification (WRT) first.
If you plan to take the exam, The Restoration Science Academy will require a
copy of your IICRC wallet card when registering for the AMRT class.
Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) Course
This four-day, IICRC approved, course provides professional restorers with the
skills to perform mold and sewage remediation. Mold contamination, a major
contributor to building related illness and poor indoor air quality, can become
a problem in less than 48 hours if the issue is not addressed. In addition to
mold issues, this course will discuss the effects and handling of sewage
backflow. This course includes hands-on training, which consists of containment
procedures such as HVAC, attic and crawl space remediation, and cleaning of
structural contents.
The AMRT Course will cover:
- the basics of fungi, bacteria, and viruses;
- biocide use and limitations;
- confined space;
- sampling procedures;
- sewage remediation procedures;
- health hazards of sewage and mold;
- microbiology case studies;
- personal protective equipment (PPE); and
- how to choose a lab and consultant
